I know getting photos done can be so stressful- so I'm here to help! Here are a few quick tips + reminders to help assure that your session goes smoothly.
+ Remember to remove all items you do not want pictured prior to your session. (Hair ties on wrist, glasses, phones and other items kept in pockets). For your convenience, I always carry a client tote bag to keep your items safe in the event you cannot just simply leave them behind in your car.
+ When booking with small children, it's helpful to bring a small toy for your child that you wouldn't mind seeing in your photos in the event we need extra tools to help with their cooperation. I try to keep a few neutral and visually non-disruptive items on me as well for this purpose. With small children, it also greatly helps to do a "practice run" with them + their "picture smiles" prior to the shoot to better prepare them for what is ahead. As a mother of a child with special needs, I know how hard this new situation may be for some and I take great care + attention when it comes to making my little ones comfortable and content, which ultimately translates to the perfect shots.
+ When choosing outfits for your session, try to remember matching outfits tend to clash, although it can be very cute try to just stick to coordinating similar colors to best achieve the ultimate cohesive family look. Avoid logos or busy patterns, as they can be distracting in the shot. Neutral + earthy tones with small pops of color always tend to photograph beautifully. Also, don't be afraid to add layers to your look to add depth and versatility to your gallery!
